Selection procedure

Once you have submitted an application through our website and your CV has been approved, we follow a four-stage process to further assess your suitability for the job.
The HR interview focuses on behavioural competencies. It is intended to find out what kind of person you are: what motivates you, what you have achieved in the past, what you contributed, how you went about things, what the outcome was, and so on. To give us an initial idea of your potential suitability for a job at Elia, we will ask you about specific situations you have experienced and how you dealt with them. However, the interview is also an opportunity for you to get to know us and to ask us any questions you may have.
As well as assessing your behavioural competencies, we will examine your knowledge and skills in greater detail. This interview is conducted by one or more business line managers. It is a chance for you to find out more about our business and the opportunities that the company can offer you.

Elia uses online assessments as well as business cases to evaluate your practical knowledge, skills and approach. In this way we aim to assess all candidates as objectively as possible.

Candidates for technical jobs also make a series of technical and practical tests (e.g. to test their fear of heights).

If we believe that you are the person we are looking for, we will hopefully be able to welcome you into the Elia team. We will make you a concrete job offer which we will explain to you in detail and discuss together.
